Suffice it to say that Instagram is undoubtedly the most important social network at this very moment. It doesn’t matter if you’re a regular guy or girl from the neighborhood or a model or even a businessman, the chances that you’ll find the things you’re interested in on Instagram are incredibly high. With over 800 million active users, it’s also the place where all the brands and companies will try to find their clientele. However, a new thing grew out of this community – the Instagram influencers which can earn a lot of money and become extremely popular. It would have sounded quite silly a couple of years ago, but Instagram influencers are among the top paid jobs at the moment. So, if you want to become one, here are all the things that you should pay attention to:

Choose your passion

Let’s clear up one thing – you cannot be a “general” Instagram influencer. The first thing that you need to do is actually choose the niche you want to be into and start from there. It doesn’t do to lie – if you, for example, see that personal trainers and fitness instructors have the most followers on IG, you cannot sneak into this niche if you don’t know anything about it. Most people choose fashion as their niche, and for the sake of an example, we’re going to use this niche throughout this article. If you don’t know what your passion is, try to think. Is it fashion? Is it food? Books, perhaps?

Combine your posts with stories

Influencing was totally different before the introduction of stories. Now it’s easier for you to engage with your following (more on that below), as Instagram introduced stories, so you can basically choose posts to share on your feed and the ones that you will be posting on your stories. Another thing that you should bear in mind is that many people use stories as a form of self-advertisement, and post there whenever they posted something on their feed. The new Instagram algorithm made it more difficult to get likes if you’re a newbie, and this is a great way to promote yourself a bit better. The quality of photographies you post is one of the most important factors in order to keep your followers interested and engaged. Invest in quality camera, and use some great abstract backdrop to get the best of your photos. Background cloths are a good way to adjust any space in order to get some professional-like images and is also inexpensive. medium-weight, woven cotton fabric. A good example of the cloth backdrop is a muslin backdrop that can be easily folded and carried around to various locations because of its medium-weight and  Polycotton fabric materials

Make contacts

The next thing that you need to do is make contacts with other people. Of course, this will require that you’ve been posting for a while and that you’ve acquired a certain number of followers and likes, but each Instagram influencer has certain contacts – either with other influencers or even better, brands. If you chose fashion as your niche, it would be great if you made contacts with certain fashion brands. Of course, it’s always better to have one high-quality and well-known brand that you will advertise in your posts, as people will always heart a post that features, for example, a great Fendi piece of clothing. Everything depends on your influencing history, but bear in mind that your goal is to make collaborations with a few good names than a plethora of minor ones. Also, always tag brands and use appropriate hashtags!

Pay attention to your feed

Even though it sounds minor, paying attention to the posts you post on your feed is of crucial importance. You probably stumbled across Instagram profiles that are totally non-aesthetic, and aesthetics is a big deal at the moment. The best way to deal with this is to have one filter or color that you will be using throughout your feed. In that way, you will keep your feed concise and elegant. This will draw other people into following you and looking forward to your new posts.

Post, like, engage

You already know that the biggest enemy is the Instagram algorithm, but an excellent way to defeat it is to not only to post regularly but like other posts as well. First of all, this will make your photographs appear on the feed of your followers more often, and secondly, it’s always good to show some support to the people who are supporting you. Like other people’s photos, and comment on them. Another plus side to this is that you will be seen, and that’s always a great thing.

Have a business profile

If you want to be a real Instagram influencer, you definitely need to make sure you’re using a business Instagram profile. If you’re not – it’s quite easy, just check the settings and change the nature of your profile. There are many benefits of switching to this kind of profile – but perhaps the best of them is that you can statistically see the following that’s engaging with your posts, the number of people that save your posts and your actual reach. Once you know this, you can continue making your business plan accordingly. Another thing that’s simply great and extremely helpful is that you can see what time of day brings you the most likes and follows.

As you can see, it’s not that difficult to become an influencer, but it definitely is to thrive as one. The most important thing is to be original. Sure, you will turn to other profiles for inspiration, but don’t copy them – have your own voice. After all, if you don’t have the voice, passion and originality for this, it will be quite difficult. But if you put your whole heart and soul, and if you really want to achieve in this – you’ll definitely succeed. Good luck!
