Exams are a big challenge for kids, no matter what their age. Fortunately, there are plenty of things that parents and carers can do to help. If your children know they have your full support, they will likely perform better in their tests. I have teamed up with St Catherine’s School, a prep school in Middlesex, to offer parents some advice around helping children manage the pressure of their exams so that they can perform well on the day.

Firstly, it’s vital to make sure your child is getting plenty of sleep. Rest helps us feel relaxed and revitalised, which is important for children who need to be alert and attentive. If your child is tired, they won’t be able to concentrate during lessons or revision sessions and they’ll be distracted on the day of the test. Regular exercise and a healthy diet are also important in ensuring your child is in good health for their exams.

Who doesn't desire soft, kissable lips, right?

The environment both outdoors and indoors can do a number on your lips leaving them dry, chapped and even blistered during the seasons. From snowstorms to 90 degree days to biting winds and heated or airconditioned homes, our lips are delicate and easily irritated because they lack oil and sweat glands to keep them supple. In other words, everyone's lips need protection and moisture.

That is why an exceptional lip balm like EOS should play a key role in your beauty routine. It's time to pamper and prep for spring, and get your pretty pucker in perfect condition.

Exfoliation is a wonderful treatment before applying your favorite EOS lip balm. You can purchase a soft toothbrush for this purpose to remove old, dead skin cells, get the circulation revving and add a subtle plumping to the lips.

Apply a little petroleum jelly to the toothbrush, and brush your lips in a circular motion. You could also make a honey/sugar scrub; dip your toothbrush into it, and scrub your lips for a minute. These simple beauty treatments will leave your lips prepped and smooth and ready for an EOS lip swipe.

Everyone wants to feel good, and one step to feeling good is by improving appearances. Improving appearances can be achieved by wearing the right clothes and standing out. As such, people tend to go for expensive brands associated with uniqueness and class. Big budgets characterize executive shops and malls. Sometimes, it’s only favorable to those with deep pockets. One of the best ways to look unique, save on expenses, save the environment, and satisfy your shopping craving is by shopping consignment.

The Real Real consignment shop offers clients the opportunity to shop for wearables from executive brands at a lower cost. The clothes, shoes, and socks among other items provided by The Real Real may no longer serve the initial buyer but still have a long life use. As such, we can stand out by wearing executive brand items without breaking our banks by shopping at consignment stores. Buying at consignment stores comes with several advantages some of which include;

Regardless of your age, weight or lifestyle, we’ve all been told at some point that regular exercise is good for you. Somewhere down the line, whether it was in school or at home, it’s been drilled into our minds that we need to exercise often to stay in top form. However, do we really know all of the reasons why regular exercise is so important, or do we always focus on trying to look better in the eyes of others?

In this quick post, we’re going to look at both the most common, and the less commonly discussed advantages of regularly exercising. Hopefully, you will get to the end of this and be just that little bit more motivated to get out and burn some energy once a day. Let’s start with the obvious one that is always spoken about, staying healthy.

Practicing Pinggang Pinoy.

The Philippines has been facing the rise in the number of underweight and overweight Filipinos for more than 20 years. The World Health Organization (WHO) defined this phenomenon as the “Double Burden of Malnutrition” or the “prevalence of both undernutrition and overweight in the same community, nation, or region.”

To address this problem, our government launched the Pinggang Pinoy® campaign in 2014. Pinggang Pinoy® is an easy-to-understand food guide showing proper food group portioning on a per-meal basis. This reflects the principles of MOderation, VAriety, and BAlance (MOVABA) to promote healthier eating habits.

Clinical depression is a serious medical disorder in America and across the globe. It is more than just sadness as some people may assume. Clinical depression has symptoms that can often be overlooked, but these signs might be signals of serious mental health issues that can be addressed. Some of the symptoms include anxiety, a feeling of constant loss or emptiness, lack of pleasure from daily living, sleeping disturbance, and severe symptoms can be thoughts of suicide. Researchers have been delving into ways to help fight the battle and bring relief to individuals who suffer from this disorder. There are many treatment options available that can be explored, so if one method does not work, there are others to step to.

A common treatment for this disease is antidepressant medications. There are several well-known brands of this form of medicine and some new manufacturers also. With prescription drugs, there are often side effects to consider, such as an increase in weight, upset stomach, unusual wakefulness, and some may experience disruption with intimacy. Some of the severe side effects can be life-threatening, such as damage to the liver and increased suicidal tendencies. Often medication is coupled with therapy. The therapist can chart the patient's reaction to the medication and see if a dosage change might be in order or switching the medication altogether.

A cryptocurrency is a medium of exchange that has been developed digitally and operates all around the world. All that is needed are tools to access the internet. It mostly involves virtual currency and works as a substitute for the common tangible currencies. They never need a centrally controlled economic system such as banks. They use the distributed ledger technology where users can be involved in the transactions without the presence of a middleman.

Bitcoin is considered as the first form of cryptocurrency. Crypto ATMs have been recently introduced to enhance the cryptocurrency transactions. Mostly, they involve the purchase of bitcoins; hence they are also known as Bitcoin ATMs where an exchange of local bitcoin for cash or vice versa is carried out. Currently, the kiosks are a few thousand in numbers with the highest percentage in North America followed by Europe and then Asia.

Being a people-pleaser isn’t necessarily always a bad thing. But people pleasing without a healthy respect for your needs, opinions, and wants can be hard to contend with on day by day basis. You end up frequently doing things you don’t want to do to make others happy. But you don’t get to do what you want to do, so you become unhappy. You might internalize other individual’s pain without dealing with your pain. You may worry about whether people will eliminate you from their lives if you don’t do what you want them to do. You aren’t responsible for making others happy at all times. And you don’t have to be perfect all the time to feel like a worthy individual or to make others happy. When all you try to do is to please others, you lose a part of yourself along the way. Deep down, you are worthy of love from others, even if you don’t satisfy them all of the time, according to counselors at Talkspace.

Why do People Feel the Need to Please Others?

Many people-pleasing tendencies evolve as we try to protect ourselves from rejection and its accompanying sadness. Talkspace counselor Rachel O’Neil states that people who have problems setting boundaries may fear disappointing others or that people won’t like them. Or they might be afraid of losing their social group.

How Can You Find Your Boundaries and Keep Your Identity?

To be able to discover a balance between self-compassion and helping others, you need to be able to accept yourself with no conditions, no matter what your inner critic may be saying. Here are five personal actions you can take to become more self-accepting:

1. You need to permit yourself to say no.
2. Tune into your emotions before you try to deal with someone else’s feelings. Once you understand how you feel, you’ll know whether you’re prepared to deal with someone else’s feelings or if you need to schedule some personal time to get yourself together. It’s okay not to answer messages or phone calls right away. Take time to get in touch with yourself before you get into a struggle or help someone else with their problems.
3. Meditate to increase self- loving kindness. If you aren’t grounded in your feelings, you won’t be able to set boundaries for your relationships with others. A loving-kindness meditation may be as simple as sitting quietly and thinking such thoughts as “May I be filled with loving-kindness,” or “May I be well in my body and mind.” Once you become calm and centered, you can then send these helpful wishes on to someone else by adding their names to the meditation.
4. Be careful with self-sacrifice. If you consistently do things for other people when you don’t want to, or at the expense of the person’s sense of well-being, it’s time to take a new look at the ways and times you sacrifice yourself for others.
5. Ask for personal support. Working with a therapist can help you identify your people pleasing tendencies. A skilled therapist can also help you set boundaries between yourself and others that might be healthier for all people involved in the relationship.

If you need help setting boundaries between your needs and others, contact Talkspace today. Don’t be afraid to request help from a qualified online therapist to keep your life and relationships healthy. You and your self-esteem are worth the work.

Female empowerment cuts across various industries – from TV and film production to any kind of businesses, both big and small. In fact, many small businesses today are owned by women, many of them mothers, with entrepreneurial minds and maternal hearts that care for their kids.

It’s this dual role (running a business and raising kids) that can sometimes make it tough for mom entrepreneurs. The good news is that there is help available when it comes to financial support for female business owners.

Cognizant of the important role women play in starting and growing a small business, loan providers and lending companies, and even institutions like Camino Financial have included small business loans for women in their financial portfolio.

If your bike has been damaged during an accident or you have driven it for a while, and you begin to see signs of wear and tear, chances are you will need to purchase replacement parts. If you own a Honda motorcycle, you will be wondering where to find Honda motorcycle parts online.  No doubt, you can purchase the parts from your repair shop but some parts may not be ready stock at your repair shop and this is when you’ll need to source for them online from sites like Bike Bandit.

When it comes to engine parts, you’re going to be limited as to what you can find. Sure, parts like brake lines and sprockets can be found like most other bikes, but when you’re getting into the internals of the motor you will be limited to OEM components. Fortunately enough for online sites like Bike Bandit, they’ve got you the best prices you can find anywhere to find what you need in their OEM schematics, from Honda replacement parts to Suzuki accessories.

As the venerable British author H.G. Wells put it, “Every time I see an adult on a bicycle, I no longer despair for the future of the human race.” Cycling is one of the keys to cultivating a healthy urban living environment. It is a secret the Dutch have known for some time and one that has gradually been embraced by other countries around the globe.

Getting to work or school on a custom bike offers a healthy, extremely economical, space-efficient, and, above all, clean alternative to other forms of transportation. If the idea of cycling is embraced by enough people, it has great potential to alleviate pressure on existing infrastructure.

There are more bicycles than people in The Netherlands and in cities like Amsterdam and The Hague up to 70% of all journeys are made by bike.  In the Netherlands, you can cycle around a roundabout while cars almost always wait patiently for you to pass. The idea that "the bike is right" is such an alien concept for tourists on bikes that many often find it difficult to navigate roads and junctions at first. However, once you are used to it, you will find it such a breeze to move from place to another on a bicycle. Young people in the Netherlands aren't allowed to drive unsupervised until they are 18, therefore getting some comfortable women's bikes or men's bikes offers Dutch teenagers an alternative form of freedom.

Being arrested is never going to be pleasant or easy, whether you committed an offense or a mistake has been made. The world is feeling the huge effects caused by climate change. There are shrinking glaciers, ice on rivers is breaking up earlier than it should, animals are having to relocate, and trees are beginning to flower sooner. This is causing scientists to predict that global temperatures are likely to keep rising for a number of decades because of greenhouse gases that are produced by human activity.

But, is there anything we can do to help stop climate change? While there are many ways for us to cut our carbon footprint, there are several ways in which the urban garden can benefit our environment. After all, according to the Royal Horticulture Society (RHS), with more than 85% of the British population living in towns and cities, our gardens make up a quarter of total urban areas in many cities.
