Stop Your Youth Slipping Away By Looking After Your Health Today!

I will admit that 24 years old, doesn’t seem to be the right time to be thinking about life in your thirties, forties, fifties and so on. I’m in the prime of my life, and I haven’t even started climbing the hill to get over it. However, there are plenty of things that are going to affect you when you’re old that you need to think about right now. Money is an example of this. You should be saving some cash each month for your retirement, even if it is over fifty years away. You’ll be surprised how quickly that time will pass, and I know, that sounds crazy. Nevertheless, it’s true. One day you’re skydiving out of a plane and the next, you’re struggling to get upstairs. However, that fight might be sooner than you’d think if you don’t look after your health. It is another thing you’ll have to think about when you’re young.

When you’re young, it’s easy to believe you're invincible. If you get hurt, it’s not a problem. You’ll soon be back on your feet again because your body will recover quickly. On the other hand, if you don’t eat right and live well, that won’t be the case at all. Your body will be weaker than it should be and you might end up aging quite a bit faster than you’d like. Wrinkles will appear, your skin will look worn, and your body will ache constantly. On this post, I’m going to look at the best ways to protect yourself now so you can have a great life later on.

Sitting Can Be Dangerous

Again, I know, this sounds crazy, and truth is told, I doubted it when I read it. As a blogger, I can sit on my bed, in a chair or at my desk for hours typing away. I love it, and it’s hard for me to accept that this could be bad for my health. But once you look at the research you will see there’s no doubt this can be dangerous. You might have already noticed this if you are always typing on your laptop. You might have felt an aggressive pain in your leg. It has nothing to do with typing and is all about sitting in the same position for too long. You can develop a blood clot, and that could be life threatening. Or, it could just lay dormant in your leg, damaging your muscle. Either way, it’s a serious medical condition that could affect your quality of life.

It’s not the only issue that comes from sitting in a chair all day, either. You might also be more susceptible to developing certain types of cancer. Research has shown that people who do not have an active lifestyle are more likely to develop this disease. Immediately you might have noticed a problem. What if you work in an office all day, at a desk. That doesn’t give you much time to move around freely. I suggest you get up at least once every hour for five minutes and have a walk around the office. If you can’t do this make sure you are moving your legs and feet under the desk. It will keep the blood flowing.

Weak Bones

Have you ever felt pain in your joints or bones? It shouldn’t happen when you’re in your twenties. If you wake up in the morning, and your bones ache, you’re not living a healthy lifestyle. You need to look into ways to increase the strength of your bones. One possibility to consider is drinking more milk. Calcium helps the bones grow stronger, and it’s vital that you drink a lot of milk when you’re young. That’s why kids are given milk every day at school.
It shouldn’t stop once you reach adulthood.

You might also like to consider adding bone broth to your diet. Bone broth is a superfood, and it’s perfect for giving your bones the minerals that they need. Bone broth can be quite difficult to make yourself if you’re not an experienced chef. That’s why you might want to consider purchasing something like Au Bon Broth Bone Broth. This natural substance is rich in protein and will provide everything you need for healthy bones.

One of the issues with your bones that can develop as you get older is osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is a condition that causes bones to be brittle and frail. Typically we associate this term with people who are 50+. However, doctors have been surprised by the number of young adults they have seen with this condition. Usually, it’s because of a vitamin deficiency. You need vitamin D to make sure your bones are healthy. You can get this vitamin from oranges and even sunlight. That means if you do find your bones are aching, it might say that you need to get out more. Next time you go out, head for a walk rather than a drive and you should feel better.

The Skin You’re In
There are a few easy things you can do that will keep your skin young and healthy. First, although I said you need to get out more, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be using protection. You need to protect your skin from the sun’s powerful rays. Use plenty of sunscreens and make sure that you avoid staying out in hot weather for too long.

Another tip I know is going to be unpopular with a lot of girls is to avoid using high amounts of makeup. You should think of makeup like washing your hair. You shouldn’t wash your hair every day, and you shouldn’t use makeup daily either. Makeup will quickly take the natural color of your skin and make blemishes far more likely. If you are using makeup, I suggest products that are made with natural ingredients rather than chemicals.

If you take this advice on board, you will look and feel younger for longer. You won’t be plagued by some of the issues that we think are unavoidable as we start to get older.
