Winter can be hellish for our skin. All the harsh weather and cold temperatures can really play havoc with our face, and you will probably find that your skin is a lot drier than usual. Even if you normally suffer from overly oily skin! And when your skin is very dry, it can often be super flaky and can develop a roughness. Do you wish you knew what the key was to smoother skin? Well, wonder no more - here are some fantastic tips that can help your skin stay soft and smooth no matter the weather!
Wash Less
I’m sure that lots of you will start to wash your face more as soon as you realize that there is a problem with your skin. This is also how we tend to try and repair our hair whenever that goes through a bad patch. However, cleansing doesn’t work quite the same when it comes to our face. In actual fact, increasing the number of times you wash it could actually make things worse. Over-washing can be very irritating and can result in even more dryness. So make sure you don’t wash your face more than once a day.

Use Natural Products
If your skin is particularly dry and rough, you might be tempted to buy some new products to try and replenish all the moisture that it has lost. When you do buy new products, you should make sure that you aren’t buying any creams or lotions that contain high levels of chemicals, as these can irritate your skin. Instead, look for a natural skincare range, such as Tropic Skincare.

Clean Your Brushes
Can you remember when you last cleaned your makeup brushes? It was probably a long time ago! In fact, not many of us actually do clean makeup brushes. This is a habit that you need to change because unclean brushes can attract lots of bacteria, which can be very problematic for our skin. You don’t need any special products for cleaning your brushes, you can simply use warm water and washing up liquid. Let your brushes air dry so that you don’t accidently damage the bristles.

Moisturize Day And Night
Hopefully, you are already applying a moisturizer to your skin every day. This can rehydrate your skin, which can help make it soft and supple. Not only that, but it also helps to create a smooth layer on which you can better apply your makeup. Don’t forget that your skin will also need some moisture overnight while you are sleeping. Rather than using your daytime moisturizer, be sure to apply a night cream. Night creams are a lot richer than regular moisturizers, and can really help your skin rehydrate and heal itself through the night. Make sure you don’t wear your night cream through the day either - it will be extra oily and could give your skin a greasy complexion.

Bad skin day? Not anymore! These tips should help you perfect your skin routine and have soft and smooth skin every day!
