Technology has indeed become a big part of our lives—how we move, how we work or learn, how we think. Essentially, technology allowed us to live life with more ease and convenience.

But it is still not as ubiquitous as it may seem. Somehow, technology still doesn’t click for everyone, especially those whose access is still limited. Many are also averse to its wonders, thinking it has made people lazy, too dependent on machines, ignored critical thinking, etc.

However, just like what the Bible says: “The love of money is the root of all evil.” The verse did not say money is not the root of all evil; the “love” of money is. In this case, technology is not bad; we need it to make our lives somewhat easier (not to make people lazy) and better.

That is why here in the Philippines, a group of young and visionary individuals decided to establish a party-list group that will push technology to be a big part of Filipinos’ lives not just in highly urbanized cities (HUCs) but also in the countryside. Through groundbreaking legislation, Computer Literacy, Innovation, Connectivity and Knowledge, or simply “CLICK” party-list, dreams of making technology change the way we live, work, play, learn, even govern, from the traditional and cumbersome, to the digital and high-technology, in order to make life better for everyone.

Before you visit, be prepared by learning these facts about place.

Where Is Taiwan?

Taiwan is an island in East Asia, located off the southeastern coast of mainland China. Taiwan is controlled by the Republic of China (ROC) government-in-exile, which took refuge on the island following its defeat to Communist forces during the Chinese Civil War. It's currently holding control over only a few smaller islands surrounding Taipei, the second largest city in East Asia.

When Is the Best Time to Go to Taiwan?

Taiwan is home to four distinct seasons. The country has warm summers and cold winters, with temperatures varying greatly depending on the region of Taiwan you are in.

With that said, there isn't really a bad time to visit Taiwan, just different times for different activities. Generally speaking, the best times to go are between March and June or September to November.

If you are planning a beach vacation, you will be disappointed. Taiwan's beaches can get quite cool in the winter months. Instead, try going to one of the many hot springs Taiwan is famous for or go hiking up one of Taiwan's mountains.

Diabetes is one of the leading causes of death in America. Although it can be difficult to prevent diabetes, many steps can be taken to reduce your chances of developing this condition. If you want to live a longer, healthier life, here's what you need to know.

What are the Types of Diabetes?

The three main types of diabetes are Type 1, Type 2, and gestational. Here's how they differ:

Type 1 Diabetes - An Autoimmune Disorder

This occurs most often during childhood or adolescence. The pancreas does not make insulin, the hormone that moves glucose from the bloodstream into the body's cells, where it can be used for energy. Instead of being transported to the cells, sugar builds up in the blood, causing various symptoms.

Type 2 Diabetes - A Lifestyle Disease

This is the most common form of diabetes, accounting for about 90 to 95 percent of all cases in the United States. The pancreas still makes insulin, but the body does not respond to it as well as it should. Type 2 diabetes is associated with lifestyle factors such as being overweight and lack of exercise.
