The Big No-No's of Business Blogging

If you want to make your blog your business, or you want to blog to draw more attention to your business and help you market the goods and services that you offer, you need to do it the right way.

Business blogging is about more than just writing down your thoughts and feelings and hoping that people will be interested, It’s about being interesting, driving traffic and converting customers. If you can’t do that, then you’re unlikely to ever get anywhere with it.

If you want to avoid the pitfalls of business blogging and ensure your efforts are successful, here are a few big no-nos that you should avoid:


Blogging Infrequently
If you want your blog to get attention, build a customer base and have them coming back for more, you absolutely need to keep on top of things and blog regularly. You don’t necessarily have to blog every day, but you should set a realistic schedule and stick to it, whether it’s daily weekly. Bi-weekly or monthly. That way, your readers will know what to expect, and they won’t be disappointed.

Not Investing In Your Blog
If you’re using your blog to promote your business, and especially if your blog is your business, then you need to invest time and money into it. There are countless business loans for women that can be utilized to pay for a better blog design, improved content and the equipment to take amazing photographs if you don’t exactly have the budget to improve your blog unaided, and you should take advantage of them. Why? Because the slicker your blog is and the more appealing it looks, the more likely it is to gain positive attention and work for you.

Writing Boring Content
The biggest sin any blogger can commit is writing boring content. Unfortunately, a lot of brands do this, and although it might give them enough SEO juice to generate traffic, it rarely inspires anyone to stick around and read, let alone make a purchase or come back a second time. So. make sure that your content is engaging, informative, educational or just plain fun if you want to see real results.

Uninspiring Titles
The first thing that people will see when they Google something in your niche, and your blog is one of the results, are the titles of your posts. If these titles sound uninspiring, dull or like you don’t really know what you’re talking about, no one is going to take that next step and click on your blog. So, learn how to write titles that stand out, which are emotional, attention-grabbing or intriguing - the titles on Buzzfeed are great for inspiration - and you’ll be on to a winner.

Failing to Promote Your Content

It doesn’t matter how good your blog content is if no one knows about it. So, post links on social media, try to persuade a niche influencer to feature it, submit it to places like Stumbleupon and give it a chance to work for you and your business.

Avoid these huge no-nos, and business blogging success can be yours.
